But those who wait on the LORD Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with
wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.

“The Lord heals, He heals completely and it doesn’t take years. By His power, grace and mercy YOU can find your total healing and freedom in Christ Jesus – sometimes you just need a bit of help. Kim West has a heart to see people delivered and set free and has helped hundreds do so. She has a Master of Divinity and a PhD in Clinical Counseling but, more importantly, she is one who has personally experienced her own healing and freedom from the Lord. She understands what you are going through AND knows how to get you through it in Christ. “
Your financial gifts enable us to maintain this ministry of God’s love & power to the lost & hurting.
“Father God, thank you for allowing me to come to your throne with all that's on
my heart. It is my desire to line my heart, my life, my soul up with your very
Will and I so want to stand with others who also love you. Make me a prayer warrior!
Give me YOUR words and YOUR desire to minister to others and to stand on your word
“Send me someone else to ‘stand’ with, and send me to others who need someone
to stand with. Your word says that when two of us come together, there you are also,
so bring me to others who I can lift up to you, and who will lift me up when I am
“I want to hear your voice even stronger, Lord Jesus, so I can COME and be
my guide. Let me hear your heart and your direction. Minister to my heart, Lord
Jesus, for it is weak at times and in need of strength and encouragement. Minister
peace and healing to my heart and show me who I am in you. Thank you Father God,
for your mercy and grace, and I give you all the glory, honor and praise for you

The history of dueling goes back to the Middle Ages where European nobles had
defended their honor in man-to-man battles. While these battles were seen as preventing
men from killing “in the heat of passion,” they continued even though heads of state,
along with the Catholic church banned dueling. The earliest versions of duels were
known as “Judicial Combat”, so called because God allegedly judged the man in the
right and let him win.
There was a “Code” for such events which outlined 26 specific rules outlining
all aspects of the duel from the day during which challenges could be received to
the number of shots or wounds required for “satisfaction of honor.”
While we know that Dueling is not a biblical way to resolve conflict, there are many
notations of the Second’s duties that mirror what an effective friend in Christ &
intercessor for us may look like.
The “impartial comforter”
In a typical duel, each party acted through a “Second,” whose duties above all
else were to try to reconcile the parties involved without violence. The Second would
make every effort to sooth and tranquil their “principal” (person presenting the
challenge). The Second was expected to be cool and collected and to try not to see
things in the same aggravated light and to extenuate the conduct of his adversary
whenever possible without doing harm to the principals irritated mind.
The Second would consider his friend’s plea, hear his heart, and endeavor to
persuade him that there may be some understanding in the matter. A good friend should
do this in ALL circumstances, comforting and pursuing understanding, rather than
putting fuel to the fire with advice that may escalate the situation. (The “enemy”
(Satan) LOVES it when we pursue anger, pride, or indignation and will throw any lie
in the mix that we would believe.)
A good friend should pour out Christ’s heart to one offended or upset, taking
them to the throne and asking the Holy Spirit to come with power, grace, and healing,
if the offended cannot go him/herself.
The “Accountability Partner”
Because the Second in a typical duel is the endorser of the duel request/ correspondence,
the Second has the power to require the principal to make the duel request written
respectfully, refusing to receive it if not written in the style of a gentleman.
A good friend in Christ should hold us to acting in a Godly manner at all times.
While understanding of a friend’s pain and heartache, we can still love each other
enough to hold each other from behavior that comes “into agreement” with the enemy...and
sin. A good friend would not allow you to write off a hasty note or email, “setting
someone straight” nor making a hasty decision such as quitting your job after an
altercation at your job, or any other decision that may have serious consequences.
The recipient could apologize, but if he elected to fight, apologies could end
the duel up until combat began, or the duel would end when honor had been satisfied.
The SECOND was the “INTERCESSOR,”
An Intercessor “on the ground” and in battle
In a typical duel, the principal is to be respectful and neither by look or
expression irritate the other principle, they are to be wholly passive and entirely
under the guidance of their Seconds. The Second holds them to the ground and no
one does anything without the leave or direction of their Seconds.
If there is an offense between two of God’s children,we are to go to our sister
or brother for the purpose of reconciliation (Matt. 18:15-20). A good friend or “councilor’
will create an environment for restoration, holding each party towards reconciliation,
honesty, and in Christ’s love. It’s not important to be “right” but that we hold
no offense against another. So even if there is no reconciliation, we are still
told to forgive the offense and offender. In fact, Jesus demands this if we want
Many kinds of “Battle”
There are many kinds of battle, but whether it’s against the lies of the enemy
as far as the state of our mind during great trials, or the reality of a situation
or conflict, it’s still coming down to our stand on Christ and His word. Matthew
“Whatever we bind on earth will be bound in Heaven and whatever we loose on earth
will be loosed in Heaven.”
This is a huge glimpse into the power we have through Christ Jesus to bind
up all the enemy’s efforts to hinder or destroy us.
God’s word also says that “when two or more of us gather, there He is also”
(Matthew 18:20). It also says that when “two of us on earth agree about anything
we ask for, it shall be done for us by our Father in Heaven” (Matthew 19:19). His
word doesn't say when three, four, a crowd, or the Bible study prays, it says that
when there is a minimum of TWO, that the miraculous happens.
Ask the Lord “WHO?”
You may not be able to think of someone who will pray with you or stand with
you on the prayers that you offer up, but the Lord knows what you need so ask Him.
Ask Him to reveal a certain someone, whether it's someone at work that you know loves
Him or maybe someone at church who is a prayer warrior, or it may even be someone
you don't know that He lays on your heart. Who knows, that person may even be thinking
of finding someone to pray with also, in fact, that would be just the way the Lord
Either way, ask Him to provide such a person but be careful in trying to make
a 'fit' where He is not leading the way.
Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don't lean on your own understanding (Proverbs
Only Father God knows exactly what is going on in that person's life and knows what
fruit will come from any union. Looking for a ‘partner” or friend outside of the
Lord’s leading only gets us focusing on humans for our comfort, ministry, and healing
instead of focusing on the Lord for ALL of our needs.
Pouring out to someone that God did not direct us to pour out could put a huge, unbearable
burden on another and cause THEM to be in distress if it’s more than they can handle,
or is aside from what the Lord is asking THEM.
Flow with the “season.”
Whoever the Lord brings, know that the Lord is still in charge for the “SEASON”
to which you come together. What I mean by this is that this other person may be
someone who meets with you on a regular bases: in person, over the phone, weekly,
once a month, etc. Or it could be someone to “stand” with during one particular short
period of time, even if it's in prayer together just once.
I have been in a position many times where the moment showed a need to stand
in the Lord, like in a request or “need” or to declare His peace during a time of
stress. Be watchful for the Lord's leading, watching for the slightest shift of
His head to where He may be leading, for the slightest opportunity to stand with
another who needs support and encouragement and a touch of the Lord.
If no one shows up
Be encouraged if you don't see anyone that may be willing to stand with you in prayer.
The Lord's timing is perfect so maybe this is a season where you draw into HIM closer
and not rely on another human. The Lord will ALWAYS minister to you, HE will seek
you out Himself and ”bind up which was broken and strengthen that which is sick.”
For thus says the Lord Yahweh: Behold, I myself, even I, will search for my sheep,
and will seek them out. As a shepherd seeks out his flock in the day that he is among
his sheep that are scattered abroad, so will I seek out my sheep; and I will deliver
them out of all places where they have been scattered in the cloudy and dark day.
I will bring them out from the peoples, and gather them from the countries, and will
bring them into their own land; and I will feed them on the mountains of Israel,
by the watercourses, and in all the inhabited places of the country. I will feed
them with good pasture; and on the mountains of the height of Israel shall their
fold be: there shall they lie down in a good fold; and on fat pasture shall they
feed on the mountains of Israel. I myself will be the shepherd of my sheep, and I
will cause them to lie down, says the Lord Yahweh. I will seek that which was lost,
and will bring back that which was driven away, and will bind up that which was broken,
and will strengthen that which was sick: but the fat and the strong I will destroy;
I will feed them in justice. (Ezekiel 34:11-16)
Be encouraged and ask. It's His WILL to make you a prayer warrior and to stand with
others, which releases His power into a situation, and it is His WILL to heal, so
ASK! Go over the “Power Prayer” below and claim it, creating your own as your heart
is yielded up to the Lord.
You can use a “Second” when dueling with the enemy.
We all want someone in our corner when we go to battle. Boxers have trainers
“in their corner” during a fight and during a typical duel, a man always had a “second”
before making a challenge to another.
For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities,
against the powers, against the world's rulers of the darkness of this age, and against
the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places (Ephesians 6:12).
Ephesians 6:12 says basically that no human is our enemy, that the true enemy
is Satan whose dark spiritual forces infiltrate the minds of others and influence
the actions that come against us that can hurt us. This also means the wrongful
thinking that we ourselves can enter into, so our battle sometimes looks like it
may be with another person or a situation that is hard for us to reconcile at the
throne by ourselves.
Any trial or conflict should drive us to the throne, and in many instances, a friend
in Christ, a “second” can be a blessing to HOLD us to the throne and encourages us
in the REAL battle.
